A Legacy of 60 years and more.

A preschool that grooms tiny tots to be global in attitude and local in values. Learning by doing, learning without walls in nature, soaking in experiences are key aspects incorporated at the legendary Anand Balwadi – since 1961 and the now Anand Prep Academy.

Anand Balwadi, a venture started by Late Smt. Savitaben Amin, an eminent educationalist and visionary in the field of Early Childhood Education. Under her able guidance and expertise for 60 years and more Anand Prep Academy till today stands as the mother school to all the reputed schools of Vadodara.

 

The Pre – School Years

Self Help Skills

Nursery

The journey begins with the Nursery class:

The children are between 3 to 4 years of age.
The major focus in the Nursery class is:
The transition and adjustment from the home to the school set-up.
Learning to grow independent by practicing self help skills like eating and washing on their own.
Learning to interact with peers, adults, and materials.
Learning to follow simple instructions and do a few activities.

Eye hand Coordination

Prep-1

Lower Kindergarten class:

(The 4 to 5 year old), serves as a bridge between the Nursery and the Higher Kindergarten class

Children here learn all pre-requisite skills required for the reading and writing process,at the same time focus is on holistic development of children.

 

3 R's

Prep-2

Higher Kindergarten class:

(The 5 to 6 years old), Children here learn to read and write meaningfully and understand appropriate math concepts.

In addition to the overall development of the children, the program focuses on school readiness i.e. grooming them for STD 1.

 

 

Children are active learners and learn easily when the educational experiences are age appropriate and enjoyable.

A Play Based Readiness Program To.....

Strengthen gross motor skills

through outdoor play areas where children run, jump, climb, etc. and grow strong physically, yet at the same time learn to interact and respect other children as well.

 

Enhance finer motor skills

through activities like scribbling, crayoning, clay modeling, stringing beads etc. which leads to better eye-hand coordination and moulds the wrist and finger muscles for writing. It also helps to stretch attention span of children.

listen, question, experiment, problem solve and remain engaged in the process of learning (i.e. understanding concepts) at the same time develops their ability to match, identify, seriate, to compare and classify

where children learn to communicate with each other, to share ideas and thoughts, and solve problems through group discussions.
